About
Imagine multidisciplinary teams working together with mutual respect and common purpose, providing patients with the care they need, and fully justifying the enormous trust they place in our hands.

R. Aseervatham, Director of Surgical Services, 2013

Let’s face facts – no one wants to be seeing a surgeon. If you are looking for a ‘good’ surgeon, then you, a family member or a friend are not experiencing the best of times.

It took me many years to fully understand this complex interplay between my role as a professional and my patient’s need for help from both a professional and a human. I didn’t realise or appreciate it at the time, but important lessons were being learned as I experienced my own loved one’s terminal illness. The result, I hope, is someone who has a deeper understanding of the doctor-patient relationship.
